Welcome to the world of Femke Kleisen: goldsmith, artist, and maker of handmade jewellery you can wear as a work of art. Each piece from my studio is an original creation – a fragment of art born from a love of nature, craftsmanship, and expression.
My art is created with passion and craftsmanship
For over 25 years I have worked independently as a goldsmith, guided by a deep passion for nature. This love of trees, flowers, birds and other animals can be found in nearly all my creations. In my designs, I follow natural lines and stylised forms, allowing unique and striking pieces of jewellery to emerge almost effortlessly.

Every creation evolves from an artistic process: intuitive yet structured, shaped by nature, memory, and emotion. Not driven by trends, but by meaning. Some pieces are entirely one-of-a-kind, others made in limited editions – always with a deep attention to detail, identity, and authenticity.

From South Africa to the Netherlands: my journey as an artist
Where I come from – and what has shaped me
Pretoria, South Africa, is the place where I grew up. From an early age, I loved nothing more than being creative. I attended Pro Arte High School, where my final subjects included sculpture, painting, and design. Working with my hands and bringing my own ideas to life felt completely natural to me. My passion for shaping and creating soon found its expression in designing and making jewellery.
After graduating as a goldsmith in Schoonhoven, I returned to South Africa, where I practised the creative craft of goldsmithing for 25 years. My strength as an artist lies in creating unique jewellery, inspired by nature.
I currently live in the Netherlands again and am continuing to develop my skills in creating original designs. In Gelderland, I now have my own studio where I transform my inspiration into original jewellery.
